The Unicorn Theatre, in partnership with The Guardian, are launching ‘a new and unique digital theatre experience’ as they announce the streaming of ANANSI THE SPIDER RE-SPUN, created and directed by Justin Audibert.
‘We’re thrilled to announce our very first entirely digitally created theatre experience, Anansi the Spider Re-spun for ages 3 – 8, streamed in partnership with The Guardian. There are three episodes, which we are streaming for free on our YouTube channel and on The Guardian’s website. One episode will be released every Saturday at 11am from 30 May, with each available on demand for the following three weeks.’
Inspired by the 2019 five-star hit show, Anansi the Spider, about the infamous mischief-maker and master spinner of yarns, the classic West African and Caribbean tales have been adapted for Unicorn Online. The cast film themselves in their own homes and alongside the episodes will be free downloadable activities for teachers to use, and free creative activities for families.
Each episode will be streamed on the Unicorn Theatre’s YouTube channel and The Guardian’s website, with content available to play on demand for the following three weeks only.
