Dylan Brady has been cast in the role of ‘Danny Tomlinson’, an old friend of James Bailey’s dad Ed, as CORONATION STREET introduces a face from the Bailey family’s past this week, leaving James with a big decision to make.

‘When Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) measures up the Bistro for a refurb, he’s delighted to discover that Danny is there. Danny has just been appointed as temporary manager.

Ed is taken aback when Danny explains that, since they last saw each other, he has come out as gay.

When James (Nathan Graham) calls in at the Bistro later on, Ed introduces him to Danny. James and Danny share an awkward hand shake, hinting that they may already know each other far better than Ed realises.

Once they get a moment alone, Danny urges James to tell Ed the truth about his own sexuality.

Danny suggests that Ed is probably more open-minded than James thinks, leaving the young footballer with food for thought.

Meanwhile, at The Rovers, Ed tells his wife Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw) about Danny’s sexuality. With Aggie aware of James being gay, it’s likely that she’ll be watching Ed’s reaction closely to see how supportive he is.’ Digital Spy
