SURANNE JONES returns in A Touch Of Cloth III: Too Cloth For Comfort on 9th August on Sky 1 HD.
Sleuthing collides with spoofing when John Hannah stars as maverick, booze-addled DCI Jack Cloth in Charlie Brooker’s original comedy that tickles and twists crime drama cliches, now approaching its third series.
A Touch of Cloth casts an acerbic and very silly eye over the world of cop dramas, poking fun at the very best (and worst) of every police procedural ever written. John Hannah (The Mummy, Spartacus) stars as DCI Jack Cloth – a maverick, heavy-drinking and haunted loner who’s teamed with plucky, no-nonsense sidekick DC Anne Oldman (geddit?), played by Suranne.
In the third series, things get personal when DCI Cloth investigates the grisly murder of his estranged brother Terry (a bewigged John Hannah). Catching the killer won’t be easy, but at least the troubled detective can count on the support of his formidable team, notably DI Oldman, who has suddenly developed a drinking problem. Look out for former Doctor Who star Karen Gillan as fresh-faced recruit Kerry Newblood.
