THE GOOD DOCTOR IS PICKED UP BY SKY ATLANTIC

US medical drama THE GOOD DOCTOR has been picked up in the UK by Sky Atlantic.

Chuku Modu plays ‘Doctor Jared Unger’ in the latest series by creators David Shore and Daniel Dae Kim.

The series follows the story of a young surgeon, Shaun Murphy (played by Freddie Highmore), who has autism and savant syndrome, and relocates from a quiet country life to join a prestigious hospital’s surgical unit. Alone in the world and unable to personally connect with those around him, Shaun uses his extraordinary medical gifts to save lives and challenge the skepticism of his colleagues.

The release date is TBC.

JARED GARFIELD TO APPEAR IN THE DOCTOR WHO CHRISTMAS SPECIAL

Jared Garfield will bring to life one of the classic Doctor Who companions in this year’s Christmas Special.

The special episode, entitled ‘Twice Upon A Time’, will revisit the end of the first Doctor’s era, as he encounters the current Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, as they both near their own regeneration.

David Bradley will play the first Doctor (originally played by William Hartnell), and Jared will play his companion, ‘Ben Jackson’, a Royal Navy seaman, originally played by the late Michael Craze from 1966-67.

KAYI USHE TO JOIN THE NEW CAST OF MOTOWN THE MUSICAL

Kayi Ushe will be joining the cast of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL as lead role ‘Marvin Gaye’ from 4th Sept.

He will perform alongside David Albury as ‘Smokey Robinson’, Cedric Neal as ‘Berry Gordy’ and Lucy St. Louis as ‘Diana Ross’.

Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, the show features Motown classics including Ain’t No Mountain High EnoughI’ll Be ThereDancing In The Street and Stop! In The Name Of Love.

Motown the Musical is now booking at the Shaftesbury Theatre until 5 January 2019.
